Members of Comixology took time during their 2:45 p.m. Thursday panel at New York Comic Con to discuss their newly announced submission system, Comixology Submit.

The platform, which was announced earlier that morning, lets creators submit work to Comixology for distribution on their mobile app, which allows digital comics to be purchased and viewed on devices such as the iPad and the Kindle Fire.

According to Chip Mosher, VP of Marketing, PR and Business Development for Comixology, the submission process is free, and the company will add it's signature "guided-view" viewing method to the comic for free as well.

Mosher said that Comixology Submit will allow creators from all over the globe to submit work to their distribution platform.

"Comixology started with deals with a handful of creators, and now we're coming back full circle to where we started," Mosher said.

John D. Roberts, co-founder of Comixology, said that the new submission platform will come with an approval process, but that it won't be an editorial process, simply a way of ensuring the content that they distribute matches the company's quality standards.

"We are not a publisher, we are a distributor only," Roberts said. "We put the user experience first, so we need to make sure that the content that we're putting in is going to meet the needs of our consumers; meet the needs of our creators."

Mosher added that while Comixology is currently only available as an invite-only private beta, he hopes to have the new site go public within 90 days.
