Marvel Cancels Avengers Academy With Issue 39

With that graduating cover in November, we will see the end of Avengers Academy, with issue 39.

Originally spinning out of Civil War, Avengers: The Initiative saw young superheroes drafted by the government under new legislation to turn them into soldiers of the state, written by Christos Gage.

With the Heroic Age that followed, Initiative was cancelled and Avengers Academy was launched with Gage and Mike McKone redeveloping themes from the original, now that it was a school rather than an army camp.

But all good things must come to an end.

I wonder what Christos will be doing for Marvel NOW in coming months…?
