FCBD 2012: Ultimate Comics, RX Comics, Collectibles Etc And Comic Store West

We've been looking at comic stores that, this weekend, will go above and beyond just giving out free comics on Free Comic Book Day. Here are four more contenders.

Ultimate Comics of Durham, North Carolina has guests Chris Burnham, Janet Lee, Brian Clevinger, Tommy Lee Edwards, Joe Keating, Andre Szymanowicz and Richard Case signing and sketching through the day, along with local comic talent, live music, a costume contest, free drinks, chips and salsa…

RX Comics in Vancouver, British Columbia, will be running a major drive with Vancouver's Food Bank in conjunction with Free Comic Book Day. So if you come in, you get free comics, but if you bring in money or non-perishable food items for the Vancouver Food Bank, you'll get more free comics and toys, some donated by customers, some by the shop.

Collectibles Etc in Lexington, Kentucky will have Action Labs set up in the store with Mike Maydak and Mark Kidwell. The local 501's Star Wars troopers will be at the store with 20% off on everything and heavy stock on Sixth Gun, Mouse Guard, Batman: Black Mirror, Sailor Moon v.1 for special discounts. They'll be raffling off the Neil Gaiman/David Mack print for the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund.

Comic Store West in York, Pennsylvania, will be playing Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, Captain America, Hulk on their HD projector and movie screen, selling comics by the pound, trivia contests through the day, a tent for Avengers Vs X-Men HeroClix and… a Spider-Man pinata
