San Diego Comic Con Volunteer Registration Is Now Open

San Diego Comic Con Volunteer Registration Is Now OpenThere are many ways to get into San Diego Comic Con. One is to work for a publisher, studio, vendor or attending retailer. Another is to be a legitimate member of the press which also includes working for Bleeding Cool. Another is to be lucky enough to be allowed to buy tickets, after fighting through the online sales system. Another is to dig your way in from the harbour.

But another is to be a volunteer. And don't be under any illusion, volunteering at a comic con, any comic con, is hard work. At San Diego it's mega hard work, due to the extra space the show covers. And getting to be a volunteer is almost as hard as getting a ticket. And you will be required to work for your free entry.

But free it is. And the camaraderie from volunteers is intense, has led to long term (and short term) relationships, and a bond that little in geekdom can sever. You may get to walk Joss Whedon around.

And you get a shirt.

Online volunteer registration for San Diego Comic Con 2012 is now open. I hope you already got your Member ID. Use it, click the Volunteer for ComicC0n 2012 and fill in the form.

Returning volunteers will get priority, then new volunteers will be considered by the time they applied. It may come down to seconds.

Do let us know how it goes…
