Loosening The Exclusive Chains At DC Comics

Recently, Bleeding Cool ran an article on how Marvel were looking to get certain creators out of their exclusive deals with Marvel, in an attempt to save money. And how Ariel Olivetti may have been a good example, locked into a two year excluisve deal with Marvel but suddenly appearing on the rejigged Men Of War, now GI Combat, for DC Comics.

Well, what's sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

I understand that a number of DC Comics have come to an arrangement with a number of exclusive creators over their deals. That the word from Warner Bros has been to reduce the number of exclusive contracts with creators, along with the guaranteed work and health benefits. But that, unlike say Ariel Olivetti and Marvel, they are still only doing work for DC, and certainly have enough, so that no one else has noticed. For now. But you might expect familiar names associated with Marvel and DC, popping over to the other side a little more…
