Millennium Trilogy – Three Different Comic Adaptations From Three Different Publishers

Millennium Trilogy – Three Different Comic Adaptations From Three Different PublishersDC Vertigo recently released the news they were to adapt the Millennium Trilogy into six volumes over the next few years.

Bleeding Cool also reported that French publisher Dupuis announced a similar adaptation, and we speculated these may be one and the same thing.

They are not.

At the Frankfurt Book Fair this weekend it was announced that the books by Steig were being adapted not once, not twice, but three times.

Once by DC Vertigo for the English speaking market, then by Dupuis with a French creative team for the European BD market and then a further time as manga, from Japan.

I hate to think what the legal documents that allowed this multiple adaptation agreement amounted to.

And what will happen when territories start to import from one another?
