As someone who has spread out a hard-won batch of comics on a table or floor for a group shot on more than a few occasions, I was a little surprised at the reaction to this story in the BC forum. The collecting jones is about the thrill of the chase, having something cool that not everybody has, and increasingly in the print-as-artifact world — helping to preserve a little knowledge of what was printed where, when and why.

It was announced recently that, despite the stand-off between Fox executives and the voice actors for The Simpsons regarding salary, the show would be returning for another two seasons. Troubles began when Fox insisted that in order for the show to continue the actors would have to accept a 45% salary cut, and were met with more than a little resistance. Most vocal among the voice talent has been Harry Shearer, who attempted a compromise with Fox in order to try and adjust to their "new business model". His statement was released shortly before the 24th and 25th seasons were announced.

There to take pictures of the stars were the cameras of Just Jared, but buried behind their headline about the pretty people you'll also find images of the film's costumes, creatures and little dioramas showcasing prop and set design.

If Kermit told me I had to sit backwards in the cinema and watch the whole film with a hand over one eye I'd probably snap to it. Surely he'd have his reasons? If we can't trust Kermit, who can we trust?
