HireWatch: Marvel have a brand new editor. Submissions guy and comedian, Jon Moisan.

"Here goes nothing. I'd like to announce that I'm officially leaving my current position at Marvel……So that I can take over as the newest Marvel Comics assistant editor! That's right! I'm going to be the new assistant editor at Marvel working on all things Ultimate! So excited! My first official books will be Ultimate Spider-Man 2 and Ultimates 2 on sale 9/28! I should also mention that I'll be tackling Black Panther as well as some other misc stuff. Gah! So excited!"

WarholWatch: Alex Ross is to get an exhibition of work at The Andy Warhol Museum in Pittsburgh in October.

"Heroes and Villains: The Comic Book Art of Alex Ross" will be the first major exhibition of a single comic book artist and will include 134 works from Alex's collection (from age 4 to the present), plus influential works by Norman Rockwell, JC Leyendecker, Andrew Loomis, and Andy Warhol. Inhabiting 5,500 square feet of gallery space, "Heroes and Villains" will be the largest exhibition of comic book art to date.

Alex will be present at the opening on October 1 for an autograph signing.  In addition, Alex painted an original portrait of Andy Warhol which will be sold in poster form in the Warhol Museum's store.  We are also preparing a comic book exhibition publication which pays tribute to Alex's influences from comic books and pop culture in the 1970s and 1980s.  A film series will accompany the exhibition, bringing in the stars from Flash Gordon, Escape from New York, and Revenge of the Nerds.

SignWatch: Peter Hogan and Chris Sprouse are signing Tom Strong at Forbidden Planet on Shaftesbury Avenue today at 6pm.

Bad Circulation

The latest circulation figures for comics and magazines make for grim reading. Many magazines have suffered falling sales but the real shocker was The Dandy apparently falling from around 15,000 readers to around 7,448 readers since its revamp last October, a loss of 48% of its readership.

'Justice League' No. 1: The Reviews Are In – Hollywood Reporter

So how'd it do? Mixed results, it seems, although the folks on Twitter appear to like it a lot more than the reviewers.
