A Little Booth Wandering At San Diego Comic Con

Preview Night does make it easier to walk from place to place. But it still got crowded. Luckily I was able to talk t some fine people before it all got too manic.

One of the nice things about Comic Con is chatting in real life to people you have, until now, only tweeted to, or about. Such as David Hahn, of All Nighter, and catching up on his upcoming Marvel work on Herc.

Or Larry Marder, still creating one of the best comic books on the planet, Beanworld.

Jamal Igle, living in interesting times with a killer sketchbook to sell.

Paul Guinan and Anina Bennett, guests of San Diego Comic Con, have their new project to show, Frank Reade, based on a forgotten pulp action imperialist hero, using the same techniques they used on Boilerplate.

Jim McCann was up in the early hours this morning making buttons and badges to sell to promote Return Of The Dapper Man – and is nervously exited about his Eisner nomination tomorrow.

Carla Speed McNeil, one of my favourite comics artists, who is close to completing pencils on her Vertigo graphic novel, is ready to tell the big central story in Finder and is also planning a fantasy romance… with dragons.

Brian Haberlin had a rather sizeable graphic novel to show off… Anomaly. It's big enough to kill.
