This is really strong stuff. A good few notches above the previous trailers I think.

Last week, Bleeding Cool reported that orders for Avengers Vs X-Men from retailers were about to hit 200,000 over the weekend. Well that happened, and more. I understand that orders for the first issue are now the highest initial orders Marvel have received for any comic since the Civil War series. As a result Marvel…
Tomorrow at 1pm, Sean Von Gorman will handcuff himself to a traffic light outside Forbidden Planet in Manhattan, to promote the newly available The Secret Adventures of Houdini. He will remain handcuffed there until every last copy is sold. This includes online sales. The rain is due to come down at 4pm… Can everyone just…
In the sixties, there was a British TV series that also aired in the US, called The Avengers. A tongue-in-cheek spy action adventure series starring a bowler hatted pinstripe-suited dapper fellow and selected beauties in skintight leather as his foil. They even made a rather poor film of the series a few years ago. Everyone…
That was a peculiar looking graphic novel that shipped this week. The second volume of Linda Medley’s Castle Waiting as published by Fantagraphics.
It’s an entertaining, beautifully illustrated tale about he daily, everyday lives of fairytale characters, set in and around the abandoned castle of Sleeping Beauty.
Originally self published, Fantagraphics have taken over publication chores, collecting the first series in graphic novel form, then serialising the second volume, which they have now collected.
But there was one thing missing from said collection. Linda Medley.
Here’s the cover to the first volume, next to the cover of the second.
Her name is not on the spine, or on the back text. Inside the book her name is only mentioned on the copyright indicia. And on the back, by the barcode is this removable sticker.
Fantagraphics told me that this change was at Linda Medley’s request but would say no more. This does seem to smack of a falling out of creator and publisher, with publication continuing due to contractual demands. After all, the last issue of Castle Waiting came out a year ago….
The legal fight between Edgar Rice Burroughs’ family and Dynamite over the publication of Warlord Of Mars and Dejah Thoris has been picked up by Hollywood Reporter. And the aspect that we picked up on has been highlighted, that the Dynamite comics have damaged the Warlord Of Mars and Dejah Thoris properties by portraying them in a…
This is Mikel Janin’s cover to Justice League Dark #6, out today. Or rather, this is the solicited version, featuring Zatanna in some kind of basque thing. Because the version that actually bring, makes a couple of changes. Suddenly Zatanna’s neck line has dropped, the zip is been pulled down a little. Say, looking…
It was mentioned in the solicitations. But now it’s appeared officially on panel, honest. With all the various discussions over which stories “happened” in the new 52, we now have positive on panel proof that, yes, Batman did get his back broken in the Knightfall story, by Bane. Yes, this is news. Shush. And in…
We already knew that something called Spider-Men #1 was coming. This teaser combining the Peter Parker and the Mirel Morales spider symbols got a few people’s attention and managed to draw a little attention away from Before Watchmen announced on the same day. Well, listed on Page 24 of the Marvel Previews, out shortly. “Opt…
Courtesy of Midtown Comics‘ listings and skipping the trades, here’s a look at the Marvel solicitations for May 2012. One word of warning, the credits on these do get mixed up, especially when there are double shipping issues – and there are a lot of those this month. But those pictures sure are pretty. AGE…
We already showed you what the DC Free Comic Book Day retailer customizable version would look like. Now we have the Marvel version, only available to retailers who order vast quantities. It’s intended to be used in mailshots or attached inside local newspapers, or given away in mass drives, each copy featuring the details of…
