Matt Smith Doctor Who Series To Start With #1 In January From IDW

And so a year after the David Tennant Tenth Doctor said his goodbye on the BBC TV series. IDW are to begin publishing comic books featuring the Eleveth Doctor as portrayed by Matt Smith, bow tie, braces and all. With Amy Pond and Rory Williams in tow, the series will continue to be written by Tony Lee with art on issue 1 from Andrew Currie, with Richard Piers Raynor drawing the first arc from issues 2 to 4.

The first issue sees the crew of the TARDIS "battling holographic spam and 'friending' requests on a planet that's hours from destruction by an alien race" wile the subsequent issues pit The Doctor against Jack The Ripper. Covers by Tommy Lee Edwards with the likes of Mark Buckingham and Kelly Jones providing variant covers…

I like Doctor Who comics. Doctor Who comics are cool.
