Joss Whedon Names Nathan Fillion As Ant Man In The Avengers (JOKE UPDATE)

UPDATE: It now appears that Joss Whedon may have been joking. Just a joke that few got in the room it seems… that bit was probably drowned out by the screams!

So Joss Whedon has just named Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Buffy, Dr Horrible) as Ant Man in the Avengers movie.

I just sneaked into the Joss Whedon panel at Ballroom 20 at San Diego Comic Con 2010. I didn’t bring any vuvuzelas with me  though. Unlike about twenty people here. Seriously.

Anyway, Joss Whedon has written a Serenity graphic novel, The Shepherd’s Book with his brother Zack Whedon coming out from Dark Horse later this year. It will concentrate on the character Shepherd Book, played by Ron Glass in the Firefly TV show and Serenity movie.

As for Cabin In The Woods? Yeah, still waiting on MGM to get sorted out for that. Joss joked as “never” – it’s still waiting. “Luckily it is timeless and brilliant and will never become irrelevant.”

And he’s still pursuing his Wastelanders webseries project with Warren Ellis…
