BBC Announce New Sci-Fi Drama, Outcasts

BBC Announce New Sci-Fi Drama, OutcastsOutcasts is a new BBC TV sci-fi drama about building a new world… quite literally.

A group of pioneers and explorers land on the planet Carpathia, settling in the town of Forthaven, building a new life for themselves, trying to avoid the mistakes of the old world – and failing. And naturally the planet has a say in this. And they lose all contact with Earth, before a final transporter arrives with a mysterious passenger.

Outcasts will air eight episodes this autumn on BBC One, from production company Kudos, responsible for Life On Mars, Spooks and Hustle. It is written and created by Ben Richards, creator of Party Animals (starring Matt Smith), The Fixer and a writer for Spooks. The directors are Kudos regulars Bharat Nalluri and Omar Madha.

The show stars Liam Cunningham (Clash of the Titans), Hermione Norris (Spooks), Eric Mabius (Ugly Betty), Ashley Walters (Small Island), Amy Manson (Desperate Romantics), Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica), Michael Legge (Shameless), Langley Kirkwood (Generation Kill) and Patrick Lyster (Invictus).

It is currently filming in South Africa.
