Avatar's Tree Of Souls For Hyde Park

Avatar's Tree Of Souls For Hyde Park

To coincidentally coincide with the DVD release of Avatar – and Earth Day, natch – a replica of the Tree Of Souls from the movie is being created at Hyde Park on Speakers Corner this weekend. It will be unveiled by Stephen Lang, the biggest star from the movie they could actually get along, what with the volcanic ash spewing everywhere.

Tagged as the largest fibre optic installation in Europe, visitors will be able to plug their smartphones into the thing and "bring the tree to life". Well, if you haven;t got tendrils on the end of your pony tail, I guess it will have to do.

As well as the massive fake tree, apparently a real tree will be planted, somewhere, for every vistor.

Oh go on then, I think I might take the kids.
