It may have grounded David Lloyd from attending C2E2. But the volcanic ash now covering most of Europe and preventing any air traffic may have a greater effect than anyone has, up till now, realised.

It may delay next week's comics.

That's right, the Diamond UK delievery of comics, air shipped in for Thursday sale next week isn't coming in. At least not yet. And with no one having any idea when this restriction will be lifted, and with a bottleneck of air freight deliveries building up, who knows when the British comics reading population will be able to pick up the Warren Ellis Do Anything collection of columns, Sword Of My Mouth, Crossed: Family Values or Joe The Barbarian?

You know, if this does continue for weeks and weeks, might this necessitate a return to the days of comics as ballast on Atlantic-crossing ships?
