The Man Who Broke Amazon

This is Dave Mac's desk. He, like many people, took advantage of the Amazon glitch "sale". He, like many people, discovered his orders for all these omnibus books at either $14.99 or $8.27, were cancelled without notification. He, not like many people, called to complain – not that the books had been cancelled but that Amazon hadn't written to him to let him know this is what had happened. And, as a Prime member, with an Amazon credit card and $3000 worth of orders a year, felt he had been treated unprofessionally.

And unlike many other people, Amazon said that this was a good point, asked it to make all the orders again, when the books were available and Amazon would honour the original prices.

And then they started shipping. Yesterday, the last one arrived.

And, well, damn.
