The First Million Dollar Comic Book
The boys at GeekChicDaily were going gaga today of the likelihood of a copy of Detective Comics #27 going for a record breaking auction price of $300,000 later in the month. But while they were caught up in Batmania, another comic was selling for over three times that.
The Kansas City edition of Action Comics #1, unrestored and graded by CGC as an 8.0 VF has just sold to an unnamed buyer for $1,000,000, reported by the ComicConnect comic sales website.
This the second highest graded condition copy of the first appearance of Superman in existence. With an 8.5 rival version doing the round, could it be that the million dollar record might not last too long after all?
