2009 Ignatz Awards – Results
Last night, the SPX hosted the 2009 Ignatz Awards, celebrating independent comics, with Jordan Crane nabbing two for the superb Uptight comic.
But what's truly great about the Ignatz event is that there are only a few categories, which leaves more time for drinking and smoking on the balcony in a hat that makes you look actually slightly cool. And a mass-Converse off. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, look I can't do cosplay jokes, it's the best I got.
I have heard some rumblings and murmurs over the "obviousness" and "laziness" of Acme Novelty Library and Kramer's Ergot winning, but its hard to debate their quality.
And hey, they're no NASCAR Heroes…

The one other controversy of the evening was the stealing of the Ignatz Awards poster. Heidi MacDonald twittered;
If someone has taken the Ignatz poster by mistake, please return it as it is being sold to benefit the CBLDF.
I'll keep an eye on eBay for you Heidi, I'll keep an eye on eBay…
