Brie Larson takes aim as an arms deal goes south in the trailer for Free Fire, Ben Wheatley‘s upcoming film in which she, Sharlto Copley, Armie Hammer and Cillian Murphy find themselves in a spirited negotiation over a suitcase filled with cash and a small arsenal. Well, “spirited” if you consider gunfire a legitimate negotiation […]

I remember seeing the ads for Hardcore Henry. I was mixed about going to see the film. It was something unique, an entire movie shot in first person POV. But I was also concerned that seeing a film like that would be hard to watch, especially on the big screen. So I passed, figuring I’d […]

Rob Bradfield writes … The trailers for the first-person point of view sci-fi thriller, Hardcore Henry, may be the most honest thirty seconds in the history of film advertising: it is a non-stop, balls-to-the-wall action movie in the tradition of Crank that hits the ground running and doesn’t let up until the final credits roll. […]
I didn’t watch the first season of Powers on the Playstation Network. Mainly because I don’t have a subscription and really don’t want one. But I did pick it up on DVD when the series came out and I enjoyed it. The acting was pretty good, the writing was strong, but it never felt as […]

Waking up this morning to find Powers streaming live on YouTube gave me a chance to watch it and I thought I’d share my initial thoughts. Unlike a lot of the superhero shows on television where the world is first learning about metahumans, Powers is a world where a guy in a cape could fly […]

Deadline is reporting that Maleficent co-star Sharlto Copley will play Walker while True Blood’s Michelle Forbes will play the […]
Intercut with the same scenes from the animated Disney version of Sleeping Beauty, it gives us a nice contrast to how these characters have been translated into live-action form.
There's one shot of Kruger in particular that leapt out at me when I first saw the film, so when I sat down with Copley for a chat, I asked him about it.
I get the feeling that this is going to be something almost totally different from Blomkamp's previous films.
