Now, I don't want to give away too much, but I'm not sure I agree with everything this film says. But that's not the point.
I've not seen Diablo Cody's Paradise, but I read a draft of the screenplay, have a great deal of trust in Cody and rate the cast she's assembled as being pretty strong. So... ewww.
Julianne Hough to play a religious woman who travels to Vegas to work her way through a list of sins.
Also, that tree-rape update you were waiting for.
I'm a big Cody fan, so my ears have pricked up.
All of the Sony movie posters and banners at Comic Con this year contain hashtags. In the case of the Evil Dead, they’re suggesting #NECRONOMICON. I did a quick search and nobody is using it yet. So do Bleeding Cool a favour and tweet a link to this post using that hashtag, why don’t you? […]
If you’re at all curious about how the new Evil Dead is going to vary from the original, chances are that your major questions have now been answered, and publicly. Harry Knowles has “reviewed” a draft of the script over at Aint It Cool, one dated after Diablo Cody delivered her “polish” but without her […]
Further to all of the other Evil Dead business of the evening, here’s a casting re-update. As Lily Collins didn’t ultimately sign on for the lead role of Mia in Fede Alvarez’ shemp-shanking do-over, the part has now gone to Jane Levy. Here’s a picture, should you not know the name. And a micro-resume. Ms. […]
She’s a sometime model, the daughter of Phil Collins and the star of both The Blind Side and the upcoming Mirror, Mirror. With all of that in the tank, Lily Collins could probably go “full method” for her role in the new Evil Dead. According to Bloody Disgusting, she’s in “final negotiations” for the role […]
Rebecca Lewis writes for Bleeding Cool. It seems there’s a new adaptation or remake in the works every week in Hollywood, but this week’s one is more appealing than most. Diablo Cody, talented writer of Juno and Young Adult, has been talking about her mission to bring Jessica and Elizabeth Wakefield to the big screen. […]
Though many of the basics will be essentially the same, it’s good to hear that the new Evil Dead movie will pack a few new tricks of its own. The film is being represented at the AFM at the moment, where an official blurb has been released. Perhaps inevitably, this contains spoilers for those who […]
The debut picture of Diablo Cody as writer-director, is coming on nicely in its preproduction. It was previously to be called Lamb of God, though it now lacks an official title – likely to prevent offense amongst the more fundamental Christians. The screenplay itself isn’t anti-Christ at all, though. Cody certainly takes some shots at […]
Fielding Twitter questions from a multitude of fans and the odd rude nosy parker, Bruce Campbell has today revealed a good few interesting points about the impending Evil Dead remake from director Fede Alverez and screenwriter Diablo Cody. These tweet exchanges were, in many respects, a horrible glimpse of what life must be like for […]
Director Federico Alvarez has revealed a few small bits about his upcoming Evil Dead remake, though I think you could have guessed most of it for yourself. Here are some quotes from El Pais as filtered through Google Translate. First, Alvarez speaks: As fans of the original we know what we are going to offend […]
The Evil Dead remake news keeps coming. And getting wilder. The latest twist stymied me for a few minutes – in a good way, like the end of Unbreakable. I really can’t put it better than the official press release, so here’s an excerpt: [Federico] Alvarez wrote the [Evil Dead rejigger] script with Rodo Sayagues. […]
Somebody calling themselves Nikki wrote the imdb bio for Diablo Cody. Here are my favourite bits: Diablo Cody is originally from Chicago, Illinois, and moved to Minnesota to live with her Internet boyfriend, Jonny who later became her husband. While there, she decided on a whim to take up stripping as a hobby of sorts. […]
I’m about to geek out. When Josh Brolin was rumoured for a lead role in Jason Reitman’s next picture, Young Adult, I expressed some dismay at how the character of Buddy Slade is written as “a little less handsome than Brolin”. Now, no offense is meant to Patrick Wilson, but he’s a much better choice […]
