After years of evading, avoiding and possibly dreading a return to Ghostbusters, actor Bill Murray — the scene-stealing Doctor Peter Venkman — will return to the franchise as a new character in Sony Pictures‘ upcoming film starring Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy under the direction of Paul Feig. While talking with New York Magazine’s Vulture […]

There is an interesting rumor running around and THR has it up on their site. Supposedly Paul Feig, director of Bridesmaids and The Heat, is Sony’s favorite to take on Ghostbusters 3. Now, the sources caution that no actual negotiations have taken place, but both sides have shown interest. The idea is that the movie […]
This is starting to sound a bit like a Michel Gondry project.
Here's the latest in a very long, ongoing series in which Dan Aykroyd sincerely updates us on the progress of Ghostbusters 3 but we can't help doubting him.

Change of plan.
Though he’s not saying who’s got the job, Dan Aykroyd has kept the Ghostbusters 3 dream alive by revealing the hiring of new writers. The idea remains the same: write something that Bill Murray will say yes to. Because, to be honest, Murray is the only real hurdle between this film and box office success. […]

The actor has told The Telegraph that, despite studio interest and an awful lot of cheerleading on his part, that the proposed threequel is now “in suspended […]

As such, the long-time coming Ghostbusters 3 has been waiting for across-the-board approval for some years now, and the lone hold out, as you would expect, has been Bill […]
If Bill Murray isn’t happy, Ghostbusters 3 can’t happen. Sometimes, when I remember the veto clause that Murray has, I convince myself we’ll never, ever see the film – but work continues anyway. Dan Aykroyd has given an update on the sequels development in a new Vanity Fair interview (via The Moviefone Blo… er… Cinematical). […]
Let’s see if you can impose such degrading readings onto this footage. Thanks, Dan, for the intro. Now go fix that Ghostbusters script. Kudos to Timberlake for the note-perfect performance. His Boo Boo is shaping up to be the role of a lifetime.
Very odd and a tiny bit creepy. The O with the mouth is the “wrongest” bit. Thanks for sharing, Yahoo. But perfect casting. Hilarious. This film is going to be, for want of another word, surreal.
