Marvel Earth is Mexico, Shi'ar Empire is USA, in Today's Avengers #30 Parallels? (Spoilers)

We mentioned earlier that Avengers #30, published today, featured a parallel to the Christmas nativity, albeit not an exact one, as the Starbrand is granted to a member of a human immigrant workforce. But how did our mother-of-the-Starchild get herself into that situation? We've already seen how Ravencroft is rewriting Marvel Earth history to include attempted Skrull invasions in the 19th century. well, Avengers #30 looks at some clearly illegal border crossings from people looking for work. And of course, thanks to what went down in Civil War II, there's no border wall any more…

Firstly it's down to the bad guys of Roxxon pulling out of the USA and moving manufacturing to Madripoor. So then our leading lady having to find work elsewhere…

Frank Tieri Rewrites the Marvel Universe in Ravencroft

Former SHIELD agents driving Skrullships to transport Americans offworld as cheap labour for the Shi'ar as grape pickers, unable to pay for their transport home, pregnant, targeted by border patrols? Avengers #30 is certainly leaning in with the parallels here…

I mean, at least she wasn't put in a cage, right? Just shackled. And no one is calling her child an anchor baby…

STARBRAND REBORN Conclusion: WHO WILL BE BRANDED?
In a Shi'ar space prison the size of a galaxy, the cosmic war for the Starbrand super weapon comes to its cataclysmic conclusion. Who is the shocking new wielder of the Starbrand? And will they survive long enough to control the epic planet-melting power at their disposal? Not if Gladiator of the Shi'ar has anything to say about it. But the space-ravaged Avengers will have a thing or two to say about it too. Including Brood Thor, Captain Corsair, the War Widow, the new-look She-Hulk and Blade… as you've never seen him before!
