Chris Grine Adapts Animorphs as a Graphic Novel for Scholastic

Get ready to relive your 90s childhood, Millennials, as Animorphs is returning, this time as a Scholastic graphic novel by cartoonist Chris Grine. How does that bittersweet nostalgia feel? Does it make you feel old? Better get used to it. It's all downhill from here.

Grine revealed the news in an access journalism EX-X-XCLUSIVE on AV Club, saying:

It's a huge relief to finally be able to share what I've been working on over the last year. I love this series and I can't wait to share it with the fans who have been wanting this to happen for so long. Having never adapted a book into a graphic novel before, let alone a series so deeply ingrained in pop culture, it was both super exciting and panic-inducing at times.

Written by K. A. Applegate and Michael Grant and originally published in 1996, Animorphs went on to spawn a series of more than fifty novels, but now it's coming back with pictures, due out in October. The book is a grim and gritty war story about a group of young furries who fight aliens. Check out some pages from the Animorphs graphic novel below.
