"The Mandalorian" Guest Star Jason Sudeikis Learns the Hard Way: The Hate Is Strong with Baby Yoda Fans

See, Star Wars cameos are a dime a dozen – but if there's anything sacred on The Mandalorian, it's this:

Don't mess with "Baby Yoda."

Jason Sudeikis is finding out the hard way on social media following the season finale. Baby Yoda fans lambasted the Second City and Saturday Night Live alum – not for anything he did, but for what his scout trooper did during the Disney+ television series.

He repeatedly punched its head every time it made a sound. The infamous exchange in The Mandalorian with another trooper (Adam Pally) didn't have the intended comedic effect. Let's just say the Twitterverse let him have it…

Not even Second City had Sudeikis' back.

Sudeikis' profile on Wikipedia wasn't safe.

Some did appreciate the attempt at humor, though…

The scout troopers get their comeuppance when IG-11, voiced by episode director Taika Waititi, rescued Baby Yoda. After taking out the two, he came into town guns blazing to rescue Mando/Din Djardin (Pedro Pascal), Cara Dune (Gina Carano), and Greef Karga (Carl Weathers) from the forces of Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito).

Since his SNL run as a featured player for 11 seasons (from 2003-2013), Sudeikis made recurring appearances as 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden. He also appeared in Olivia Wilde's Booksmart for United Artists and lent his voice in The Angry Birds Movie 2 for Sony.

The 44-year old actor stars in the upcoming WBTV series Ted Lasso for Apple TV+ in 2020. He'll also star in Charlie Day's El Tonto, costarring Kate Beckinsale; and in Aharon Keshales' thriller Till Death, costarring Evangeline Lilly.

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. "The Mandalorian" is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

Set between the events in Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens, the drama from showrunner Favreau (The Lion King) and Dave Filoni (The Clone Wars) takes place after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order and follows a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal, Gina Carano, Nick Nolte, Giancarlo Esposito, Ming-Na Wen, Carl Weathers, Emily Swallow, Omid Abtahi, Werner Herzog, Taika Waititi, Bill Burr, and Mark Boone Jr.
