New Trailer and Poster for "1917" Show Desperate Men on a Desperate Mission

It wouldn't be awards season unless there was one war movie and this year the big war movie is going to be 1917. This is shaping up to be an interesting entry in the awards season war movies since it takes place in World War I instead of the more awards happy World War II. World War I is different from World War II when it comes to movies because it's not as morally clean. The Nazis are easy to see as the bad guys but there was less black and white, good versus evil, going on in WW1. That being said there have been a lot more movies in recent years exploring World War I and 1917 is looking to do that in a very interesting way. Director Sam Mendes has shot this movie as if it is one continuous take which makes for a very different viewing experience. The new trailer showcases that.

This is absolutely one of those movies that you need to see on the big screen and IMAX knows that as they released a new 1917 poster on their official Twitter account.

1917, directed by Sam Mendes, stars George MacKay, Dean-Charles Chapman, Mark Strong, Andrew Scott, Richard Madden, Claire Duburcq, with Colin Firth, and Benedict Cumberbatch. It will be released in select theaters on Christmas and everywhere else on January 10th.
