"Jerusalem's Lot": Epix Giving Stephen King Short Story 10-Episode Adapt; Adrien Brody Starring

We tried to warn you, but you wouldn't listen. Now it's Lisey's Story at Apple TV+, "The Dark Tower" franchise at Amazon Prime Video, The Stand at CBS All Access, The Outsider at HBO, Hulu anthology Castle Rock, Audience Network's Mr. Mercedes, Shudder's Creepshow, and on and on and on – it's Stephen King's world, we're just characters in it. Now it looks like Epix wants in on "Planet King", giving a 10-episode, straight-to-series order for a drama based on the author's 1978 short story Jerusalem's Lot, with Adrien Brody (The Pianist) starring as Capt. Charles Boone.

With a late 2020 premiere expected, production on the 10-episode series will begin in May in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The series is executive produced in-house by Epix Productions. Donald De Line (Wayward Pines) will serve as executive producer, with Jason Filardi and Peter Filardi serving as showrunners.

"This series is an intense, absolutely terrifying reimagining of classic gothic horror. We can't wait to work with the exceptional team of Donald De Line and Jason and Peter Filardi, along with our phenomenal lead actor, Adrien Brody…and of course, when it comes to horror, it doesn't get any better or more masterful than Stephen King. We're thrilled to be the home to this incredible show."

Michael Wright, President, Epix

The short story "Jerusalem's Lot" was first published in King's 1978 short story collection Night Shift (later published in the illustrated edition of Salem's Lot), and will serve as the source material for the series. Set in the 1850s, the drama is set to follow Capt. Boone (Brody), who relocates his family of three children to his ancestral home in the sleepy town of Preacher's Corners, Maine, after his wife dies at sea. Soon, Capt. Boone finds himself confronting the secrets of his family's sordid history, fighting to end the darkness that has plagued them for generations.
