Avengers #28 is in stores from Marvel Comics next week, by Jason Aaron and Ed McGuinness, and we've got a preview of it that we're going to look at with you right now.

In particular, Captain America, who's been stuck in a room with Thor for days as he struggled to prevent himself from turning into a brood. Spoiler: it didn't work.

And it looks like Cap is going to have no choice but to pick up Thor's hammer himself. But can he? The old Cap, sure. But this is the Cap who's been tarred by the stink of Secret Empire. Even before that, the Cap who was behaving like a fascist prick during Avengers vs. X-Men. Sure, he was worthy once. But is he still worthy?

We'll find out when Avengers #28 hits stores on Wednesday, we suppose.
