Dynamite Sells Out Of Next Week's Vampirella #6 Stanley 'Artgerm' Lau Acetate Cover… Sorry

Dynamite Entertainment is letting retailers know that they have sold out of their Vampirella #6 Stanley 'Artgerm' Lau acetate cover, as a) they had to set numbers early for the acetate cover effect (below) b) they overprinted 20% on initial orders but c) they sold out fast anyway, ahead of going to Diamond Comic Distributors.

Due to the truncated December cycle surrounding the holidays and printer timing to deliver to retailers on time, Dynamite had to go ahead and lock in a print run on the acetate cover. To balance out for this, it was overprinted by 20% based on initial orders, but unfortunately, that wasn't enough. Orders went up nearly that entire 20% amount at Final Order Cutoff. This cover is currently not available for reorders.

Expect the inevitable eBay reaction.

They are also sending the top 1,000 retailers a Vampirella #6 Regal Blue Foil Edition as a free gift which, again, will probably be found on eBay. You can get a history of Dynamite and the original accidental blue foil edition that became a tradition, right here.

So it looks like it will be a very happy Christmas for comic book collectors and speculators… and will join the likes of Doomsday Clock #12, Batman #85, Batman: Last Knight On Earth #3 and Hell Arisen #1 on DC's Massive Wednesday next week.
