During today's PlayStation State of Play, we got a look at Babylon's Fall, the collaboration between Square Enix and PlatinumGames.

The lengthy new trailer was our first real look at gameplay for the title, and it certainly didn't disappoint. Here's the official word on the game by way of Square Enix:

Babylon's Fall is a brand new game from Square Enix, developed in partnership with renowned action specialists PlatinumGamesInc (Bayonetta series, Nier: Automata)

In our new teaser trailer, unveiled during the State of Play broadcast earlier today, take an early look at the game's fluid action gameplay for the first time as well its striking brushstroke visual art-style delivered by the original "Brushwork Filter".

Keep your eyes open for more information about Babylon's Fall this summer.

Unfortunately, beyond the first look at gameplay and the gorgeous visuals, that's about all we got in terms of news about Babylon's Fall. It looks like we're going to have to wait until summer to glean additional information about the game from Square Enix and PlatinumGames, but it'll be well worth the wait.

Right now, from where I'm standing, combat looks like it borrows a lot from Final Fantasy XV, but the rest looks like a gorgeous painting come to life. It's going to be an intriguing entry in the PlatinumGames library, and could be a promising new IP for Square Enix as well. We'll be hearing more about the game likely around E3 2020.
