The New Poster for “Birds of Prey” Plays Homage to a Piece of Classic Artwork

We should probably just say it now that Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn has some of the best marketing we’ve seen from a movie in a long time. This movie already looks completely bonkers but Warner Bros. also continues to release amazing poster and promo art that is just aces. Today the official twitter account released a new poster that is going to make the art history majors of the world smile.

Said art history major could probably spend the rest of the day analyzing everything to do with this poster. In fact, you could probably write a decent essay about it.  There are two female-centric DC movies coming out in 2020 and right now they couldn’t look more different. That is in no way a bad thing and it’s going to be interesting to see how Birds of Prey ends up coming together at the end of the day. A movie cannot run on chaotic energy alone but it can elevate a good movie to a great one.

Birds of Prey: And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn, directed by Cathy Yan, stars Margot Robbie, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Rosie Perez, Chris Messina, Ella Jay Basco, and Ewan McGregor. It will be released on February 7, 2020.
