In today’s Doctor Doom #3 by Christopher Cantwell and Salvador Larroca, we get to see the population of Earth being asked to vote for Doom.
Sorry, sorry, that’s Justice League #37, different story. But man, everyone seems to be wondering about voting for Doom these days. Something must be in the air. Doctor Doom #3 kicks off with Victor Von Doom, ten years in the future (and still looking mighty spry) standing on a soapbox and making his pitch, as the already-elected World Minister. Because, ten years or so into the future, in one version of reality. that’s what the Marvel Earth will have. And of course it’s all happening in that totalitarian state, Denmark. And it’s all about controlling the environment, just as Doom once wanted to control everything.
Sorry, wrong comic, that’s Amazing Spider-Man #35. In Doctor Doom #3, he is also the subject of an assassination attempt, and it’s all part of political shenanigans between Latveria and Symkaria.
War between Symkaria and Latveria, that’s quite I thing, I wonder who…
No, sorry, that’s Amazing Spider-Man #35 again. Which, thanks to parallel alternate futures… other ones… is looking to a solution of how to deal with Doom.
….and pick one. Hang on, I remember that…
Amazing Spider-Man #35 and Doctor Doom #3 is published by Marvel Comics today in all good comic shops. I bought mine from Piranha Comics in Kingston-Upon-Thames. Piranha Comics is a small south London comic store chain with a small south-east store in Kingston-Upon Thames’s market centre, which runs Magic The Gathering nights on Fridays, and a larger south-west store in Bromley, which also runs Magic nights and has an extensive back issue collection and an online store. If you are in the neighbourhood, check them out.
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #35 2099
(W) Nick Spencer (A) Oscar Bazaldua (CA) Tony Daniel
• Spider-Man. Doctor Doom. ‘Nuff said?
• NO WAY! The Chameleon has insane plans that have put all of NYC (and the very future of the universe!) in danger, and only Spider-Man can save the day.
• All he has to do is convince Doctor Doom to help him. Uh-oh.

DOCTOR DOOM #3
(W) Christopher Cantwell (A) Salvador Larroca (CA) Aco
DOCTOR DOOM is dead. For now. In this issue he literally finds himself in Hell, battling against his old foe Mephisto for the control of his own soul. It’s an epic underworld fight, the victor of which may have to be decided by an unexpected third party. Meanwhile, the Blue Marvel continues his hunt for the Doctor, and begins to wonder if Victor’s more victim than villain…
