"Golem" Officially Releases As A PSVR Exclusive

Highwire Games have officially released Golem digitally as a PSVR exclusive, with a retail version on the way on November 22nd. The game is a bit of a mashup between an exploration game and a heavy combat system. Open world meets fighting everything. As part of the release, Jaime Griesemer, Creative Director at Highwire Games, released a small statement about the game, which we have here.

So excited to be finally releasing our game Golem and I really hope you enjoy it. We have developed a very exciting Incline Control System designed for  maximum immersion, using the Move Controllers and physical movement by the player.

Of course, we have included the option to directly manage movements via the left analog stick on the DualShock 4 as well, primarily for those that prioritize efficient and responsive input over immersion. But it is always available for anyone that wants to take a break from the Incline Controls.

Finally, there's only one way to play Golem, and at times it can be deceptively difficult. The one-to-one melee combat starts at a manageable speed, but by the end of the game players will face enemies that will test their reflexes and force them to perfect their skills. The weapon and artifacts used to build a golem are lost if they are destroyed or abandoned, so each time a player enters the city the stakes are high. Reaching the furthest districts takes an investment in time and equipment, all of which can be lost in a moment of inattention or over-reach.
