Donny Cates on his Secret Origin in Comics, Interceptor, Dylan Brock and his Buffy The Vampire Slayer Pitch

Donny Cates has been interviewed on stage at Thought Bubble in Harrogate, by his wife-of-a-week Megan Hutchison. And he had a lot to talk about, including his secret origin in comic books (and, yes, his work for Bleeding Cool), the origin of Interceptor (and how he gamed Bleeding Cool), what is up with Dylan Brock In Venom and what he would do with Buffy The Vampire Slayer, all in videos below…

He also talked about how God Country was him turning away from mindless action adventure and tell a story that meant a lot to him, that came out of his near death experience at the age of thirty and how it was a last ditch attempt to succeed in comics after a string of sales failures for Dark Horse and Heavy Metal… and how he hat to do a lot to persuade Geoff Shaw to draw the thing – and then it exploded, instantly led to Thanos and everything since then,,,

And how he had already planned a fat Thor when taking over that title, before Avengers Endgame and then had to change things… and Megan is really not allowed to say 'Space Thor' again…
