How Will Kevin Feige's Marvel Promotion Affect C.B. Cebulski's Position as Editor-In-Chief?

So Kevin Feige is the new Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Comics. Yesterday, I looked at what the effects may be, after talking to several sources, trying to stay away from the usual hot takes.

But what of Marvel Editor-In-Chief C.B.Cebulski? His hiring was personally approved of by Marvel Chair, Ike Perlmutter, a man with whom Feige has serious disagreements, rivalries and, let's face it, an all-out feud with. When I was making enquiries yesterday, more than a few people wondered about C.B.'s position at the company now that Feige is CCO of Marvel and the boss of CB's boss, Dan Buckley, when it comes to creative and editorial matters.

Well, it looks like C.B. has spent his few years as Marvel Editor-In-Chief – and before then, at Disney China – putting the work in

A well-placed source at Marvel tells me that Cebulski has long maintained a good relationship with Kevin Feige. Which should help if he is seen as Ike's man by some.

And within the Disney, it is judged that Marvel Comics has had an increased sales and creative renaissance over the last two years. And as a result, the two are expected to work together to bring greater creative synergy across Marvel's divisions. I am not to expect radical changes in direction.

But could this mean a Loners TV series? A Marvel Fairy Tales movie? You never know… especially of CB does indeed have Kevin's ear.
