X-Men Head to Savage Land in December… Are They Going for the New KFC Glazed Donut Chicken Sandwich?

The HOXPOX X-Men relaunch is moving closer to the finish line, with House of X #5 in stores today and finally revealing what's up with those magic bean pods. But this is only the prelude, as the real relaunch happens in October with Dawn of X, when Marvel launches a whole new line of X-Men comics. The flagship book is X-Men, and Marvel has revealed the solicitations for December's X-Men #3 and X-Men #4, by Jonathan Hickman and Leinil Francis Yu.

Chicken website ComicBook.com had the EX-X-XCLUSIVE reveal of these solicits, because where else would you want to debut your comic book covers than on a website dedicated to chronicling the latest products of the fast food industry. Here's what's happening in X-Men #3 and #4:

So why could the X-Men be headed to the Savage Land? We have our theory, based on another report from ComicBook.com about Twitter users reacting to KFC's new Glazed Donut Chicken Sandwich. From that report:

Now that Popeyes is sold out of its chicken sandwich for the time being, a void has been left in the cutthroat world of chicken sandwich-making. Enter KFC, a restaurant so curious as to whether they could fill that void, they didn't stop to think whether they should. Earlier Tuesday, news surfaced the chain would be testing out an all-new Chicken Sandwich in a few markets on the East Coast.

Sounds innocent enough, right? Well…the sandwich isn't any normal sandwich — it features some legendary KFC crispy chicken sandwiched between two glazed donuts and fans are freaking out. As of now, the sandwiches are only available in KFC restaurant location in Norfolk and Richmond, Virginia as well as those in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Unfortunately, as has been well documented on ComicBook.com with multiple articles about the Popeyes Chicken Sandwich, fast food chains have trouble keeping their chicken sandwiches in stock. What if the locations in Norfolk, Richmond, and Pittsburgh have sold out of the sandwich in the Marvel Universe? If so, it would make sense for Cyclops and Emma Frost to travel to the Savage Land, another known testing area for fast food products (they have a surprisingly desirable demographic for food product testing there) to get their hands on the coveted treat?

That's our theory, and we're sticking to it like fingers on a hot glazed sandwich.

Here's the covers to X-Men #3 and X-Men #4:

What do you think of the X-Men's hunger for tender white meat chicken between two tasty glazed donuts? Let us know in the comments so we can make an additional clickbait article out of your reaction.
