"Mr. Robot" Season 4: It's a Not-So-Wonderful Life for Eliot [OFFICIAL TRAILER]

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas? Well...kind of. At least for Mr. Robot fans it is

Okay, it's the first and second most wonderful times of the year, all rolled into one: USA Network's critically-acclaimed series is back starting Sunday, October 6 – and we get Christmas this season!

"The Powers That Be" at "UCorp" finally deemed us lowly fans worthy and hit "Send" on a miraculous present: a full, honest-to-goodness trailer for the upcoming fourth (and sadly, final) season. Set during the 2015 Christmas season, here a our first full, official look – followed by the season overview:

MR. ROBOT follows Elliot Alderson (Rami Malek), a cyber-security engineer who, along with Mr. Robot (Christian Slater) and fsociety, starts a revolution to change the world. Season 4 will pick up where the third season finale left off, delving into the pros and cons of Elliot hitting "send" on the email that could reverse 5/9.

All scored with a fabulously sinister minor-key rendition of "Silent Night," the trailer features our reluctant hero Elliot still wracked with guilt over plunging society into a digital-era great depression as he goes back and forth on what to do. Of course, the people in his life (both real and imaginary) seem to all have their own agendas and not exactly helping much with Elliot's moral dilemmas.

So with what we know so far, it looks like the season will start off exactly where we left off, then follow Elliot's decision to undo the hack or not – showing us the first Christmas after the 5/9 hack.

Will we see what the first big consumer holiday is like in the new "post-consumer" world?

Will we see what that Christmas would have been like had the hack not happened?

Perhaps both?

Oh yeah, I almost forgot amid all the speculation! Here's a reminder that the season premier of USA Network's Mr. Robot is set for Sunday, October 6 at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT.

Oh – and thanks for the [early] Christmas present, USA!
