“Bill & Ted Face the Music” Casts Wounded Warriors as Extras

What was intended to be a set visit of Bill & Ted Face the Music turned into far much more. Originally an auctioned tour, the veterans now have walk-on roles as extras in the third film of the franchise as reported on the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs’ Blog.

CNN’s Jake Tapper enlisted the help of friends from across the entertainment industry to arrange an extensive assortment of auction items to benefit Home for our Troops in November 2018. Franchise co-creator and screenwriter Ed Solomon had other ideas and went the extra mile in upgrading the tour with Tapper taking to Twitter to extend his thanks.

Nothing is known about where in the film the veterans will be in, but their faces don’t lie about their most excellent experience.

Bill & Ted Face the Music reunites franchise stars Alex Winter (Bill S. Preston, Esq) and Keanu Reeves (Ted “Theodore” Logan) as they go through middle age and one last adventure, presumably.

A visitor from the future tells best friends Bill and Ted that one of their songs can save life as we know it and bring harmony to the universe.

Co-written by co-creator Chris Matheson and directed by Dean Parisot, the film also stars William Sadler, Holland Taylor, Kristen Schaal, Amy Stoch, Hal Landon Jr, Samara Weaving, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Beck Bennett, Jayma Mays, Erinn Hayes, Jillian Bell, Scott “Kid Cudi” Mescudi, and Anthony Carrigan. Sadler, Stoch, and Landon will reprise their roles from the previous films.

Returning to produce for the Orion Pictures film (under United Artists Releasing) is Scott Kroop, who also did previous entries Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure (1989) and Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey (1991). Joining him are Alex Lebovici and Steve Ponce. Executive producing are Steven Soderbergh, R. Scott Reid, John Ryan Jr., Scott Fischer and John Santilli.

Bill & Ted Face the Music blasts its way to theaters August 21, 2020.
