Epic Games Store Can Now Do Cloud Saves For Specific Games

While the Epic Games Store is buying up games to serve as competition to Steam, the developers are trying to upgrade the system to be at the same level as the platform. If you've been following their progress at all, you'll know that they've made some promises of things they were going to add and fix, but haven't delivered on some of them yet. But players have noticed that one item has started to make an appearance that they really wanted, which is cloud saves. Epic Games founder and CEO Tim Sweeney took to Twitter to announce that cloud saves have been enabled on the platform for a couple of games, but they still have a lot of work to do before they can be rolled out to the entire library.

So far, the two confirmed games that people have pointed out being able to do cloud saves on are This War of Mine and Moonlighter. Currently, the saves feature is a manual process, not an automatic one, meaning you have to go select it to make it happen. However, the feature is on the store and not something developers need to add or change in their own game, which is a nice feature. We'll see how soon it takes the company to make it wide-spread across the entire Epic Games Store library, which there's really no way to track their pace at the moment. Especially since they have other things on their plate.
