Marvel had a lot to tell us during their Hall H presentation at San Diego Comic-Con but despite the huge amount of news that they dropped we want more. There was a ton of information but it was only for the next two years so there are a lot of other properties they could be talking about. Kevin Feige name-dropped two big ones which include the Fantastic Four and the mutants. Feige’s words were that he “didn’t have time to talk about Black Panther 2, Guardians 3, Captain Marvel 2, Fantastic Four, and the mutants”.
That’s about as close to a confirmation as we could get so of course Variety had to ask if Feige had any more details to share about the story. He didn’t but that didn’t stop Feige from throwing some serious shade at the previous iteration of the Fantastic Four.
“All of that is spoilers but I’m extremely excited those characters and about bringing Marvel’s first family up, sort of, to the platform and the level that they deserve.”
We’re very proud of that shade Mr. Feige and when pressed for story details or casting Feige said “no” to everything. So Marvel is still a long ways away from bringing the Fantastic Four to the big screen but they seem pretty confident that they could do a better job than the previous three movies by Fox.
Then again that bar is so low you could stub your toe on it so there’s that.
