American Express to Promote Free Comic Book Day, Now That Comic Shops Pay Diamond With It

At the Diamond Retailer Lunch today, Diamond Comic Distributors let the assembled retailers know that they can now pay their comic book bills with American Express. Did you know this was a thing? No me neither, but apparently retailers who use Diamond's Alliance gaming distribution are particularly keen on this card. Well, they get points and everything, Membership has its privileges and all that.

But as a result, American Express is also going to include Free Comic Book Day inserts in the billings it sends out more generally. So even more people will get to hear about Free Comic Book Day, rock up to comic stores with their American Express card and buy…nothing.

No, no, that's cynicial, FCBD is one of the biggest spending days at most comic book stores. And now more people may get to hear about it…

Now Comic Shops Can Pay By American Express - That Will Do Nicely
