[RUMOR] Javier Bardem in Talks to Join the Live-Action Remake of "The Little Mermaid"

It looks like the cast for the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid could be growing yet again. Disney appears to be actively casting the new live-action remake which currently has director Rob Marshall attached. Yesterday, we found that Harry Styles in talks to join the production as Price Eric and a new rumor today seems to say that Disney is getting ready to cast Triton.

The new rumor comes from DISinsider and says that Javier Bardem is in talks to play Triton in the current live-action remake. Bardem is part of the Disney family and was part of the most recent Pirates of the Carribean movie.

The new live-action remake will feature both songs from the original 1989 movie and new ones from Lin Manuel Miranda. At the moment we only have casting and we don't know how different from the original this movie is going to be. We also don't have a release date yet but considering how quickly Disney appears to be filling out the cast we should expect production to start soon.

Halle Baily has been cast as Ariel with Melissa McCarthy in talks for Ursula, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, and Awkwafina as Scuttle.
