First Look at October’s Powers of X #6, the Fall of Mutantkind

Things are always darkest before the Dawn of X, so as we await the big news at San Diego Comic-Con for the future of the X-Men books after the Hickboot, Marvel has revealed the cover and description for Powers of X #6, the finale of the series by Jonathan Hickman and R.B. Silva which promises to reveal “the inevitable truth,” to conclude “Mutantkind’s fall,” and to “lay the groundwork of the X-Men’s stories for years to come.”

And on the cover, we see a woman standing atop the bodies of the X-Men. Who is she? What happened to the mutants? Did Matthew Rosenberg somehow get ahold of the script and kill them all off again?

Here’s our theory: the woman is Martha, and she plays a big role in Xavier v. Magneto: Dawn of X-tice. Which means, of course, that Marvel plans to release the Snyder Cut of X-Men this Fall. Of course, that’s wild speculation, so post your own theories and we’ll see who’s right.

Powers of X #6 hits stores in October.

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
