Square Enix Reveals a Release Date For "Oninaki" At E3 2019

During their E3 2019 press conference today, Square Enix finally gave us a proper release date for the upcoming Tokyo RPG Factory game Oninaki. The new trailer, which you can check out below, has the game being released on August 22nd, 2019. We don't have many more details on the game, but the trailer does show off some of the mysteries that Kagachi will encounter during his adventure, as you will drift between the world of the Living and the realm of the Beyond. We hope to see more when we visit with Square Enix later this week.

Players assume the role of a Watcher named Kagachi, doing battle by "manifesting" the souls of Daemons, which act as the classes found in traditional roleplaying games. Each Daemon has its own unique weapons and skills, and players can shift between them in real time to gain the upper hand in battle. Moving between the Living World and the realm of the dead known as the Beyond, Kagachi must save the souls of the Lost, as the story of life and reincarnation in this wondrous kingdom unfolds.
