REPORT: HBO's "Game of Thrones" Returning to SDCC Hall H

While it's been pretty much confirmed that Warner Bros. and its DC Comics properties will be taking a breaking from this year's San Diego Comic Con (SDCC) and Hall H, it appears "House HBO" will be seizing SDCC's "iron throne" for itself next month. Deadline Hollywood is reporting that cast and creative from Game of Thrones are expected to return to the famous pop culture multimedia convention to celebrate the series' run.

Talks between the cable giant and convention organizers are said to still be in the final stages, so there is still no confirmed list of attendees. Emilia Clarke, Kit Harington (who is expected to have completed his treatment at a Connecticut wellness center by that time), Lena Headey, Peter Dinklage, Sophie Turner, John Bradley, Gwendoline Christie, Liam Cunningham, Maisie Williams, and Isaac Hempstead Wright (who will also attend Comic-Con Africa in September) are just some of the names that may participate in the event. Series executive producers and showrunners David Benioff and D.B Weiss are not expected to attend, but author George R.R. Martin is expected to appear (either at SDCC or Comic-Con Africa).

If everything pans out, this year will mark the first time Game of Thrones has been at SDCC in two years: the series was forced to skip the con last year as production on the eighth and final season raged on. HBO did not respond to Deadline Hollywood's request for a comment, not had they responded at the time of this writing.

While Warner Bros. and the film side of the DCU are taking the year off, it appears Game of Thrones isn't going to be alone in filling the void. AMC's The Walking Dead is expected to return to the iconic convention hall, and the CW is expected to highlight its "Arrowverse" universe of shows – especially Arrow, set to leave the network after eight seasons; and new addition Batwoman, starring Ruby Rose.
