Everything’s Gone Sideways in This Superman #12 Preview

When “The Great One” Brian Bendis left Marvel for DC Comics, he set out to return The Man of Steel to his former glory. And in this preview of Superman #12, by Bendis, Ivan Reis, and Joe Prado, we see the return of another classic: the sideways comic book page! It starts out like any other issue, with a nice big splash page showing the united members of the House of El in epic space battle…

Go ahead, pick up your computer monitor and hold it sideways…

It’s reminiscent of the 1990s crossover between X-Force and Spider-Man, where the entire issue was laid out like that. Sadly, this appears to be a one-page-only gimmick… this time. But is it time to bring this tradition back?

Superman #12 is in stores on Wednesday.

h/t Newsarama for the preview.

The House of El is united in this SUPERMAN/SUPERGIRL crossover! It’s the House of El against everyone as Superman, Jor-El, Supergirl and Superboy face intergalactic attacks from Rogol Zaar, General Zod and an armada of alien warriors and assassins. With the truth behind Krypton’s destruction set to be revealed, a galactic conspiracy threatens to silence Supergirl and Jor-El if Superman can’t live up to his name.

About Jude Terror

A prophecy says that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero will come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events.

Scourge of Rich Johnston, maker of puns, and seeker of the Snyder Cut, Jude Terror, sadly, is not the hero comics needs right now... but he's the one the industry deserves.
