Tencent Interactive is Working on a Zombie Survival Mobile Game

Chinese game publishing giant Tencent Interactive Entertainment has released a trailer for a new mobile game that's currently in development. The mobile game, unlike many of Tencent's games, is heavily inspired by Western titles.

Tencent's project doesn't have a full title just yet, as it's been referred to by a code-name: 代号:生机 which roughly translates to "Code: Live"  according to Dualshockers.

The trailer and a bit of news about the game were shared on Twitter by Daniel Ahmad, a Senior Analyst at Niko Partners.

We don't know much about the game just yet. Only that Ahmad says it will be an open world survival game with online co-op. Based on the trailer, it seems like there might also be a tower defense component of the game, but that's just speculation.

However, it does look and feel quite a bit like Days Gone or State of Decay which makes Code: Live a surprising addition to Tencent Interactive Entertainment's massive stable of games. While Tencent does have distribution rights to a large number of Western titles for the Chinese market, including PlayerUnkown's Battlegrounds and all of Ubisoft's PC titles, the majority of it's games have been very much designed and developed for the Chinese market with little Western influence. So it'll be interesting to see how this one pans out.
