Batman's Tom King Thanks His Readers For Their Support

Earlier today, with great personal regret, Bleeding Cool ran the story that writer Tom King was being dropped by DC Comics from the Batman twice-monthly comic book. I wasn't happy, I'm still not. I am getting more information as to how this all may be going down, which I will share once it coagulates into something approaching sense and reason.

No one is confirming anything right now. Not publicly at least. But Tom King did make one short tweet, seemingly in response to the outpouring that this news elicited.

He posted,

You can read into that what you wish. That may be all we get for now. I am sure that DC Comics won't want to announce this news unless they have someone lined up to replace him and, as I understand it, things are rather fluid right now, this all got decided at Megacon in Orlando this past weekend. Offers have been made, I am told it is expected that King will continue to write the title up until the end of the year with #85 and it may be premature to say anything at all this far out.

But I will be saying this. A lot.

#ReleaseTheKingCut.

More as we have it…
