Bendis Does Crisis – and The New Universe – For Naomi #5's Big Reveal (Spoilers)

Everyone is doing multipe dimensions these days. Right now Justice League is messing with the Sixth Dimension, The Batman Who Laughs is bringing people from the Dark Dimensions – and will be swapping out characters for their worst dimensional equivalent, Secret Wars blew up Marvel's multiverse then put it together again, while the Fantastic Four create new dimensions. the Spider-Verse movie was all about dimensional analogues and the upcoming Spider-Man: Far From Home movie blows that open just as the Avengers Endgame set them up, Marvel's Agents Of SHIELD seems to be going down that road, the DCU has its own Crises and Flashpoints, and Marvel trademarks 616 and gets a What If TV show on the road.

So it feels like Brian Bendis, David J Walker and Jamal Campbell's Naomi is a little late to the party. As the big issue 5 reveal of what on earth (or earths) is going on kicks off in a familiar fashion.

First, red sky at night, there's a Crisis in sight… and it's also all down to environmental concerns.

Bendis Does Crisis – and The New Universe – For Naomi #5's Big Reveal (Spoilers)

The original Crisis On Infinite Earths (if it still happened after the New 52, Convergence and DC Rebirth) where all the realities began to merge into one is rememebersby average citizens as the skies going red. On the Earth that Brian Bendis, David J Walker and Jamal Campbell are creating, they also had a red skies Crisis. But those red skied were more of a White Event.

Bendis Does Crisis – and The New Universe – For Naomi #5's Big Reveal (Spoilers)

Something that powered up select people around the globe, just like the beginning of Jim Shooter's New Universe. A Red Event rather than a White Event. With Naomi as the daughter of two of those powered up people. Giving her both powers… and shoulder pads.

Not a lantern, not a legionnaire, but a transdimensional immigrant. Say, you don't think anyone will try and deport her, right?
