A List Of Titan Comics Employees Who Have Recently Left – and Opportunities For Those Who Want to Join

Bleeding Cool recently reported that former Bleeding Cool reporter Chris Thompson had left Titan Comics of London for Eaglemoss. We also mentioned that there had been a few departures of late from the comic book publisher of Doctor Who, Robotech, Blade Runner, Life Is Strange and War_Dogs.

Here's a list of those who have recently moved onto pastures new, or have given their notice. I had to buy a fair few pints to put this little list together.

A Partial List Of Titan Comics Employees Who Have Left - Or Are Just About ToDirect Sales & Marketing Manager – Ricky Claydon. Left in November, now marketing director for Hachette since January.

Managing & Launch Editor – Andrew James. Left in December, now a Brand Manager at Square Enix.

Senior Editor – Tom Williams. Left in December, now freelance as Atomic Editorial.

Editor – Amoona Saohin. Now a freelance graphic designer.

Senior Brand Manager – Chris Thompson. Left in April, now Brand Manager for the HeroCollector line at Eaglemoss.

Editor – Jonathan Stevenson. Handed in notice.

Publicist – Will O'Mullane. Handed in notice.

Assistant editor – Dan Boultwood. Left. Now freelance writer/artist.

Magazines Publishing Director – Chris Teather. Left. Unknown.

Given that the Titan Comics' editorial team is under twenty, that's a significant drop in recent months. I understand that a number of those who resigned did so with no job to go to.

I talked to Nick Landau, owner of Forbidden Planet and co-owner of Titan Comics with his wife and Publishing Director Vivian Cheung, who pointed out that this includes freelancers and retirees, and that they do now have four editors instead of the five, a number of new recruits coming on board, but that's down to producing fewer monthly titles.

And yes, they are currently recruiting for a new publicist, a new assistant editor and have a new opening for an illustrated books designer.

If you were really wanting to break into comics publishing – or publishing in general – that might be just the opportunity to send your CV towards.
