'Nailed It!' Season 3 Heads Back to the Kitchen This May So Bring a Fire Extinguisher

You can keep your fancy-schmancy cooking shows where competitors use "the right ingredients" or don't "burn the kitchen down" or make food that's "edible" and doesn't require you "getting your stomach pumped." For us, it's not a real cooking show if it doesn't end up with a cake – and the kitchen – looking like a fresh crime scene. Thankfully, we've had Netflix's Nailed It! meeting our needs for two seasons and a holiday special – and a freshly-baked new one beginning next month.

That's right, disaster food fans! On May 17th, hosts Nicole Byer and Jacques Torres return for a third season of Nailed It! – overseeing a new line-up of would-be bakers with terrible track records who compete to be "The Best of the Worst" – and a $10,000 grand prize. Part competition and part hot mess, the third season will feature guest judge Felicia Day (The Guild) for a very special Marvel Entertainment-themed episode.

For those of you new to the show's set-up, there are two rounds: first round is "Baker's Choice," where contestants are given 30-60 minutes to recreate a small cake-like sculpture – with instructions; while the second round's "Nail It or Fail It" has competitors recreating a cake in two hours, and given a "Panic Button" which allows them to get help from one of the judges for a total of three minutes.

Produced by Top Chef producer Magical Elves, the third season of Nailed It! is executive produced by Dan Cutforth, Jane Lipsitz, Casey Kriley, Patrick J. Doody, Daniel Calin, and Gayle Gawlowski. Jo Sharon serves as co-executive producer, with Nailed It! set to return to Netflix on Friday, May 17, 2019.
